Safe Storage is Key!
✔ Up, Up, and Away! – Store all medicines out of sight and out of reach of children. A locked cabinet or high shelf is best.
✔ Purse Patrol! – Many accidents happen when kids get into grandma’s purse or mom’s bag. Keep all bags with medicine off the floor and out of reach.
✔ Keep it Original! – Always store medicine in its original, child-resistant container to avoid mix-ups. 🚫⚠
Safe Use = Safe Kids!
✔ Never Call Medicine “Candy”! – Even if you’re trying to make medicine time easier, calling it “candy” can encourage kids to seek it out later.
✔ Follow the Label! – Always give the correct dose, using the measuring device provided (not a kitchen spoon).
✔ Medicine ≠ Sharing – Never share prescriptions, and ensure children only take medicine intended for them.
Safe Disposal Saves Lives!
✔ Unused or Expired? Get Rid of It! – Many pharmacies and police stations offer drug take-back programs. Find a local drop-off site near you!
✔ Flush or Trash? – Some medications are safe to flush, while others should be mixed with coffee grounds or cat litter before tossing in the trash. Check the label!

☑ Call Poison Control Immediately! 1-800-222-1222 (Available 24/7)
☑ If the child is unresponsive or having trouble breathing, call 911!
