Honoring Our Heroes & Celebrating Citizenship Day!
God Bless America! ❤️🤍💙
September is a month of reflection, gratitude, and patriotism. It’s a time to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001, honor the heroes who serve our country, and embrace our responsibilities as citizens of the United States.
This month, I challenge each of you to thank a Veteran and take steps to become better citizens. September 17 marks Citizenship (or Constitution) Day, a day dedicated to recognizing what it truly means to be an American.
📜 A Brief History of Citizenship Day
Did you know that Iowa (my home state!) was the first in the nation to recognize Constitution Day in 1911? This day has since been declared a national holiday, serving as a reminder of the freedoms and responsibilities we all share as Americans.
🇺🇸 Being a Good Citizen Starts at Home
Patriotism isn’t just about flying the flag—it’s about teaching the next generation to honor and respect the values that make our nation great! Here are a few simple yet impactful ways to celebrate Citizenship Day and show appreciation for our country:
✔️ Teach your children the Pledge of Allegiance – Instill pride and respect for our flag.
✔️ Thank a Veteran – A simple “thank you” means the world to those who have served.
✔️ Show appreciation to public servants – Firefighters, police officers, doctors, teachers, and the elderly all deserve recognition!
✔️ Support local non-profits – Organizations like House of Heroes provide critical support to veterans and their spouses. Learn more about their mission and how you can help here!
💙 To Our Veterans: Thank You!
On behalf of Home Hazard Prevention, we extend our deepest gratitude to all active-duty, retired, and future Veterans. Your courage, sacrifice, and dedication do not go unnoticed.
We salute you!
