Babysitters Have Enough Work

Keeping Your Children Safe

One Less thing a babysitter has to worry about!

I started babysitting when I was 12 years old. At that age I thought I knew everything about watching kids. Sure I always had the house clean, toys picked up, and dishes were done. Now as a parent of two boys I look back and realize I didn’t know the most important part, the KIDS. A big area of concern for me as a parent was making sure my kids didn’t get into any cleaners or things under the sink that they were not supposed to. Yes, I had the safety locks on the cabinets but worried all the time (even while at home with them) that they would somehow get through that lock and get to those chemicals. One day while home with my youngest son who was sick, I was watching the Oprah show and there was a company on talking about the toxic cleaners. These were cleaners that we would normally keep under our sinks that we could all potentially have in our home. Having this being one of my fears (and wanting better health for my family) by the end of that show, I ordered the starter cleaning kit that they offered on special. Not only did it help me replace those toxic chemicals under my kitchen sick, but provided me with natural products to wash our clothes and do dishes with.

So when  babysitters would come over often to watch my boys, I then didn’t have that sense of fear of what was under my sink anymore and if it was going to poison my kids. Sure I still had the safety locks on the cabinet so I could feel better, but after researching found out that some of the old cleaning products I was keeping next to one another could have caused an explosion under the sink. YIKES!  I immediately removed and replaced them with a much better and safer alternative from my Shaklee Product line!

Babysitters have enough to worry about – LIKE interacting with the kids they are watching. They should not have to worry about what toxic chemicals are lurking around in the home where they are tasked at watching children.
