Safe Christmas Tree Disposal
We hope that each of you had a great Holiday Season! We had a fun Christmas with our 2.5 year old old baby girl. What a blast to have her in our lives, we are truly blessed!
Part of having a child is being responsible for every aspect of their safety. And part of being a responsible homeowner during the holidays means responsible disposal of our Christmas trees. After all, Christmas trees, careless smoking, space heaters, and cooking accidents are the top causes of house fires every holiday season. Clearing up those areas would drastically reduce the numbers of fires and senseless injuries every holiday season.
Remember to water your live trees every 2-3 days, and to follow your local city codes for proper disposal of your used trees. A dried out tree can catch fire and fully engulf your house in flames in under 3 minutes. Here is a good video found on YouTube about Christmas Tree Fires. It’s always a good idea to have a working fire extinguisher around your home; we can help you select and install the correct one for your home.
Unfortunately, this time of year is ideal for robberies as well. Please save and print the flyer above for some essential life-safety tips if you ever need to call 911.
Be sure to contact Home Hazard Prevention with any of your family safety needs. Remember, a complete safety program does not have to be expensive or time-consuming; and we can help with that. As a group of professional firefighters, there in no one more qualified to help keep your family safe than us!
