How Do Mobile Car Seat Techs Help?
Car seat season has come and gone for us here at HHP. We had a tremendous program this summer, delivering over 110 brand new car seats to families around the Valley in just less than 35 days. That is quite an accomplishment, made even more amazing when you consider that we welcomed a baby girl into the world less than 8 weeks ago. Oh yeah, and the fact that the owner is also a full-time firefighter.
We’ve helped so many families these past 2 summers with car seats (200+), but we wish to be more than just a 1-stop shop for those and everyone else in the Valley. Our car seat program has many benefits, including the fact that we come to you and deliver and teach you how to install the seats at a location and time of your choice. Aiming to be more than just a car seat service, we also offered a quick introduction to CPR at every stop, and also helped answer several other safety related questions. We did only dispense information though; we also inquired from many of you about having a new born and raising a daughter. Many of you offered your experiences and some even just laughed and said “Don’t worry, it’ll get better. Eventually.” While not exactly encouraging, that news was still helpful.
This program did and may still have its fair share of naysayers and people that do not agree with us. But let it be known, that we are a group of full-time firefighters, certified car seat technicians, car seat instructors, and overall child safety advocates. Our program was even turned in by a local disgruntled woman to several local and State agencies, and being that we are in good standing with everyone and we have the rightful ownership papers and the full faith and trust of the aforementioned agencies; the investigations lasted less than 90 minutes. Everything that we do is legal and for the benefit of you and your families. But don’t only take my word about car seat (mis)use around the Valley. The Arizona Republic put out an article 2 days ago about car seats. I encourage you to read about it here.
We are capable of many great things here at Home Hazard Prevention, but we could not do any of it without your input and referrals. We appreciate each and every one of you, and we look forward to being able to help again in the near future. Here is a list of scheduled car seat events around the Valley for the rest of this summer; and here is a list of available car seat check locations. Be sure to call each location as they may have requirements as to whom may get a check and on days and times they are offered. Keep in mind, at the time of this newsletter, Home Hazard Prevention is the only known company that offers mobile car seat services. Let us know how we can help you. From the bottom of my heart, “Thank you!”
