This week we celebrate National Police week and National EMS week. Don’t worry about us firefighters- we don’t care for the extra attention. We don’t care for it; but we get it every October as that’s when National Fire Prevention Month (and Week) is!
If you are like most people, you hate to see the Police, perhaps because of a guilty conscious or you were doing something bad. And you don’t like seeing EMS professionals either- since that usually means they are helping you (or a loved one) during a painful and traumatic situation. But it is their job (and passion) to help others- and they generally are very good at it. I know several people from both of these fields that are Car Seat Technicians and CPR Instructors. These events are on place where professional pride and egos take a back seat. When we volunteer for these events, we don’t get paid or collect tips. Often people will tip us for our service, but 100% of those tips are forwarded to Safe Kids Maricopa – the host and organizing body for Buckle Up! Car Seat Events throughout Maricopa.
Instead of getting miffed when you encounter one above the guys from above, tell them “Thanks!” and see if they need anything. After all, they are people too that suffer as much as anyone from what they encounter on a daily basis.
Call us for any of your car seat, CPR, child safety, or commercial safety needs. Nick will also be a guest bartender at a Breast Cancer Benefit on May 28th. Please click on the link here for more info on the event and how you can help with a tax-free donation! I am also including a printable flyer for you as well.
Stay Safe my friends!
